Sugar Cookies With Matcha Icing

By no means am I claiming these as “healthy” haha but ABSOLUTELY claiming them as yummy!! Matcha is such an easy way to get a natural green colour instead of food colouring :)

1/2C grass fed butter

1/2C coconut sugar (or any sugar you have!)

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2.5C gluten free flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cream of tartar  


2 tsp matcha

1/2C icing sugar

2 tbsp milk of choice



1. Cream together the butter and sugar. Add in the eggs and vanilla and mix until well combined, scraping down sides of bowl as needed. 

2. In another bowl mix together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt.

3. Gradually add dry mixture to creamed butter/sugar mixture to form dough.

4. Place in fridge for at least half hour (can be done ahead).

5. Roll out on lightly floured surface.

6. Cut out into shapes of your choices

7. Bake in 350 oven for about 9-12 minutes.....DO NOT OVER BAKE  less is better

8. Mix together icing sugar, matcha and milk; Decorate as desired!
