Collagen, do you need it? Who does it benefit?

Collagen, a key word you have probably heard of a million times for beauty and skin and joint health but don't really understand why or why not it may work for you? Well hopefully this clears things up.

Some of the reasons I supplement with collagen everyday...

It promotes skin health; Collagen helps to maintain the elasticity and hydration of the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and improving overall skin texture and tone.

It supports joint health; Collagen is a major component of cartilage, the tissue that cushions joints, and supplementation with collagen may help reduce joint pain and improve joint flexibility.

It aids in muscle recovery; Collagen contains amino acids that are essential for muscle repair and growth, making it a popular supplement for athletes and bodybuilders.

May improve gut health; Collagen contains glycine and proline, two amino acids that are essential for maintaining the integrity and health of the gut lining, and supplementation with collagen may help reduce symptoms of digestive disorders such as leaky gut syndrome.

While I wouldn't use collagen as a replacement for whole food protein, it is a great supplement if you are looking to increase your amino acids and protein intake in a clean way!
